How to Get Your Music into Film & TV in America

In March 2010, while in Los Angeles on business, the Provost of Trinity College, John Hegarty sat down with Trinity Alumnus Ciarán Hope in Dillons Irish pub, in the heart of Hollywood to partake in the Oscar festivites. While cheering on the Irish contingent that night, they got lost in a deep discussion on the possibilities of hosting an elite panel on music in film at TCD in the near future.

In the following months, Ciarán continued to explore the poosibilites of organizing the event. After several months of work, Ciarán finally managed to organize and coordinate a top group of active industry professionals to attend Trinity's first panel on "How to get your Music into Film and TV in America".

Working closely with the Director of film and tv at BMI, Anne Cecere, Ciarán has arranged for three-time Grammy-nominated producer and renouned music supervisor Gary Calamar (House, Dexter, True Blood, Six Feet Under) to attend the panel discussion as well as the Senior Vice President of Synchronisation for Warner Music Group Jim Reid. Irish singer/songwriter Rob Hope from the Irish indi-band Seneca agreed to join us, to complete the panel members for the night.

Ciarán has also arranged to give several Masterclasses and seminars to Trinity music students over the 3-day event where he will be discussing the process of scoring fomr film and TV in Hollywood.
